The Balaam Street project in Newham, London replaces an existing run down auto-fitting centre with 21 high quality contemporary homes.

The high-density scheme is divided into two elements which frame a tranquil garden courtyard.

The scheme is designed to contribute to resident’s health and wellbeing with flexible internal layouts, generous balconies, dual aspect dwellings and access to intensive pockets of greenery throughout the scheme.

A street facing building fills in a gap on Balaam Street. The rear building compliments a cluster of existing residential blocks on Clifford Rowntree Close set within surrounding gardens.

A folded metal roof scape characterises the rear building and complements the more conventional neighbouring pitched roofs.
